Abdel-Ghani Ali Barakat

Abdel-Ghani is an experienced Engineer/ Manager with 30 years’ experience in management of major PPP projects, residential & commercial buildings, district cooling plants, solar systems, steel structure buildings, and others. He has a wealth of experience in Business Development, Project Management, Operations, Contracts, Proposals, Planning, and Procurement.

For the first 11 years Abdel-Ghani worked with Contractors in construction of all types of developments, then joined a Service Provider (Tabreed in Abu Dhabi) for 5 years supervising construction of their District Cooling Plants, networks, and Energy Transfer Stations, and then for two years with a Solar System Integrator. For the following 7 years went back to the Construction Sector with two leading MEP Contractors in KSA and UAE.

Abdel-Ghani started working on PPP projects in KSA with a major Developer in 2019 then a leading Consultant in 2022 supporting the Private Sector qualify and submit compliant bids to the Government Off-taker including projects with Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, NEOM & Trojena, ZATCA, Dariyah Gate Development Company, Rua Al Madinah, and other private clients. In several cases, upon the project’s award, support extended through the Construction Phase as Technical Advisor or Project Management Consultant.

He currently leads the PPP projects with WSP in Saudi Arabia with a team of 15+ supporting clients both during the Bid and Construction phases. Undertaken roles during the Bid phase include Sponsors Technical Advisor or Lenders Technical Advisor. Roles during the Construction phase include Sponsors Technical Advisor, Lenders Technical Advisor, Independent Certifier, and Project Management Consultant.
